PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Boeung Kok residents including children protested Monday in front of Phnom Penh City Hall asking authorities for 12.44 hectares of land which they say Prime Minister Hun Sen allocated to them.
After the protest, which was ignored by authorities, they marched to the Peace Palace, got down on their knees and began screaming.
In 2006, Phnom Penh Governor Kep Chutekma offered 130 hectares of Boeng Kok land to a developer. Of 4,000 households, affected, 700 refused to accept compensation to move.
